Introduction

The school of Emergency Management focuses on training highly skilled professionals in fields such as firefighting and rescue, safety management, and engineering technology. Its goal is to enhance construction and engineering, improve emergency rescue, and specialize in safety technology. The school aims to become a hub for cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents with expertise in port safety and emergency management.

The school offers eight programs and has partnered with the Shandong Port Group Emergency Management Center and the Qingdao Fire Protection Association to establish a School of Firefighting and Rescue Industry, which nurtures specialized talents in applied emergency management.

The school boasts a team of 37 full-time and part-time instructors who are highly qualified and bring extensive teaching and practical experience. Twelve faculty members hold certifications such as National Class 1 Registered Constructor, National Class 1 Registered Fire Engineer, and National Registered Safety Engineer. The school has established the Shandong Province Higher Education Firefighting and Rescue New Technology Research Center, the Shandong Province Vocational Education Master Teacher Workshop, and the Shandong Province Vocational Education Teaching Innovation Team. Several instructors have earned honors such as "Shandong Province Vocational school Skills Master" and "Qingdao Higher Education Teaching Master."

The school has established training labs for firefighting and rescue, comprehensive drone applications, engineering surveying, construction material testing, and 1+X construction engineering blueprint reading, among others. It collaborates with industry partners to set up practice bases for students in firefighting and rescue, construction engineering, and safety technology. Through competitions, the school enhances teaching and learning and offers comprehensive innovation and entrepreneurship education. Students have won 32 awards in contests such as vocational school skills competitions, the "Internet Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and the "Challenge Cup" Extra-curriculum Academic Science and Technology Competition.

The school leverages the "Shandong Province Higher Education Firefighting and Rescue New Technology Research Center" by working with research teams from the China People’s Police University. They focus on key areas of firefighting and rescue, conducting research and development projects on fire prevention systems. The school also offers various training sessions in BIM modeling, drone piloting, and firefighting equipment operation. It provides technical services to companies like Qingdao Port Company, Rizhao Port Company, and Yantai Port Company of Shandong Port Group.
